Everyone here is blaming it partly on Hurricane Irene (and that may, in fact, be part of the lack of colors in Vermont this year). We'll see. Send me a photo of Seattle when the colors come to town and I'll post it on the blog :) jeffJeff Wignallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15930381716253374117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4427474944010276816.post-88306047227366163822011-10-24T14:21:04.152-07:002011-10-24T14:21:04.152-07:00Here in Seattle and the Great Northwest the colors...Here in Seattle and the Great Northwest the colors seem to be slow turning as well. Went out this weekend to a popular park I frequent for fall colors and they just weren't quite there yet. A couple more weeks I think.Jenn from WAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02751954970298044506noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4427474944010276816.post-26558266325176281942011-10-21T21:58:02.141-07:002011-10-21T21:58:02.141-07:00Hi Frank,

I'm hoping NW Connecticut will pick up in a few weeks. If you and your wife are looking for another road trip, the Litchfield, CT area is sometimes more beautiful than Vermont. You had rain in Vermont as I recall, too, by the way, that doesn't help! jeffJeff Wignallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15930381716253374117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4427474944010276816.post-81714095063175938882011-10-21T21:55:45.946-07:002011-10-21T21:55:45.946-07:00@Anonymous. It was twilight and I thought it was a horse in the road :) As I got closer I realized what it was and it was taller than my van...it was looking down at me. Thanks for the color report. Kancamagus is often "thee" color road in New Hampshire. jeffJeff Wignallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15930381716253374117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4427474944010276816.post-32360359087005995792011-10-21T13:35:59.256-07:002011-10-21T13:35:59.256-07:00Hi Jeff,

My wife and I took a trip at the end of September into Vermont and, nothing. We went to Franconia Notch last weekend and it was very hit or miss. It looked like it was either green or dead.

FrankFrank Kautzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06882785814057781657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4427474944010276816.post-11278304918319719102011-10-21T13:29:33.077-07:002011-10-21T13:29:33.077-07:00same in England, trees are either green or bare, y...same in England, trees are either green or bare, you get the odd yellow but not enough for a good contrast.
thanks for the neon page :)
neilAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4427474944010276816.post-6244138795625874102011-10-21T04:53:50.557-07:002011-10-21T04:53:50.557-07:00I'm 18 mi. west of Boston and the fall colors ...I'm 18 mi. west of Boston and the fall colors have been very muted and uneven.
